Affiliate programs are a business opportunity for web site owners, and are usually free to join (I personally would only join affiliate programs which are free to join). There are a vast number of different affiliate programs that web site owners can choose from, but on the whole it is generally best for web site owners to choose programs that tie in with the theme of their site(s), and will interest their visitors.
